In Saturday’s main event, Fedor Emelianenko (31-2, 1 NC) returns to action against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (15-2) in a STRIKEFORCE and M-1 GLOBAL co-promoted event.  The opening quarterfinal on the telecast will match former world champion Andrei  Arlovski (15-8) against Russian star Sergei Kharitonov (16-4), the last fighter to defeat STRIKEFORCE and DREAM Heavyweight World Champion Alistair “The Demolition Man” Overeem.

Fabricio Werdum Heavyweight Grand Prix Press Conference Highlights

Fabricio Werdum answers questions from the press on competing in the Heavyweight tournament as well as the victory over Fedor Emelianenko.

Fabricio Werdum will face current Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem on April 9th in a quarterfinal match of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Alistair Overeem Heavyweight Grand Prix Press Conference Highlights

Alistair Overeem answers questions from the press on fighting Fabricio Werdum and the implications of the Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Overeem has been unstoppable in the sport of MMA, not suffering a loss in over three years.  On Nov. 16, 2007, he became the first STRIKEFORCE MMA heavyweight champion in history, crushing Paul “The Headhunter” Buentello with knee strikes to the body in the second round (3:42) of their matchup at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.  Overeem returned to STRIKEFORCE action last May 15, scoring a first-round (3:40) TKO over Brett “The Grim” Rogers at Scottrade Center in St. Louis. Overeem became the K-1 World Champion as well as the Dream Interim Heavyweight Champion in 2010.
